The Training Unit is responsible for ensuring department personnel maintain the knowledge, skills, and readiness necessary to serve the community safely and effectively. The department requires monthly, mandatory, department-wide training, ensuring consistent standards, legal compliance, and operational preparedness across all divisions.
The Training Unit oversees initial training, in-service instruction, certifications, and ongoing professional development in accordance with state requirements and departmental policy. Training is delivered through a combination of numerous in-house advanced instructors and adjunct instructors who provide specialized expertise in key subject areas.
