The Detective Unit is responsible for investigating the most serious and complex criminal offenses affecting the community. Detectives conduct detailed, long-term investigations into crimes such as violent offenses, major property crimes, and other cases requiring advanced investigative expertise.
This unit focuses on comprehensive case development, including evidence collection and analysis, interviews and questioning, suspect identification, and coordination with the prosecuting attorney’s office. Detectives work closely with Patrol, Vice, and specialized units to ensure continuity from initial response through case resolution.
Through thorough investigative work, analytical skill, and collaboration, the Detective Unit plays a critical role in solving major crimes, holding offenders accountable, and supporting victims and their families.
